Doctor of Education with a major in Higher Education Leadership and Practice

The University of North Georgia (UNG) now offers a fully online Doctor of Education with a major in Higher Education Leadership and Practice beginning in fall 2017. Candidates for the program might be adjuncts with non-terminal graduate degrees, student affairs professionals, or K-12 educators with master's or education specialist degrees interested in teaching at the collegiate level. The EdD has been approved by the Board of Regents and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

Program Info

The Ed.D degree is designed to provide a path into higher education that attracts high-performing educational and professional leaders who have few incentives for and/or lack of access to traditional degree paths. The intent of the program is to prepare 21st-century professionals with advanced degrees and expertise in highly effective practice to join higher education, and the degree would offer emphases in specific education services, as well as broad preparation in higher education practices in policy, research, finance, student services, and administration.
