Math 1111 Eligibility Exam


Before you pay for this non-refundable test, please understand what it is designed to do. This test provides students the opportunity to take MATH 1111, College Algebra, if their old SATM is 440-460; or new SATM is 480-500; or ACTM is 18-19; and Math Placement Index (MPI) score is  below 1300, and if their major requires MATH 1111. Students must score at least 266 (on a 200-300 point scale) on this test in order to be permitted to take MATH 1111 as a stand-alone math course. Your scores (SAT/ACT/MPI) are posted on your Tranguid. If you are not certain whether or not you meet the criteria for this test, contact the Advising Center on your campus before proceeding with paying for this test.

MATH 1111: College Algebra Eligibility 

If your test scores were any of the following:

  • ACTM: 18-19
  • Old SATM: 440-460
  • New SATM: 480-500

This placement test will determine your eligibility to enroll in MATH 1111: College Algebra.

Students who do not meet the eligibility are required to begin their math coursework at UNG in either MATH 1001: Quantitative Skills, MATH 1101: Mathematical Models or, the UNG default, MATH 0999: Support for College Algebra, with MATH 1111: College Algebra.

Step One: Register and Pay

Please register and pay your $11.50 administration fee payable by credit/debit card. All testing fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Note: You must use a different web browser other than Internet Explorer. 

What to Expect

✔ You must provide a valid government issued photo ID.

✔ If you arrive fifteen minutes after your scheduled appointment time, you may not be allowed to test.

✔ Length of Exam: Varies/Untimed


Retest Policy

Only one retest is permitted. A fee of $11.50 will be required.
