Student in the Department of Modern Languages wins award for research paper
On February 11-12, 2011, Dr. Victoria McCard and several of her students participated in the USG Americas Council's 14th Annual Conference on the Americas. Spanish major Leah Orlandella won $100 for submitting the best undergraduate paper, "Freudian Aspects of Ernesto Sábato's El túnel ".
Dr. Brian Mann, Department Head of Modern Languages, had this to say about Dr. McCard: "Vicki has helped our majors prepare and present papers at conferences a number of times throughout the years, often presenting one right along with them as their colleague."
We would like to congratulate Leah for such an excellent presentation, and Dr. McCard for her outstanding mentorship.
