    Overview

    John Amoss has been a professional illustrator, fine artist, and educator for over 35 years. He worked at a variety of graphic design companies including 10 years at the Atlanta-Journal-Constitution's newsroom. He owned Amoss Illustration, Inc. for 9 years- clients included Prudential Securities, Lucent Technologies, Schulz Creative, New York Times, Oxford Press, and others along with being a recipient of several national awards. His fine art prints have been exhibited in Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and Oceania and have won several international awards. John worked as a guest Printer at Mokuhankan, Tokyo, Japan, 2107 and will be teaching woodblock printmaking at John C. Campbell School in 2022.

    John served as art department chair and gallery director, as well as Art Club advisor and study abroad trip leader to Spain, Italy, Morocco, Japan, and China. He presently is a Professor of Printmaking on the Gainesville campus. He likes to play jazz accordion, hike long distances over mountains, and play with his two chihuahuas.
