6.8 Feed - Faculty-Staff

The "Feed-Faculty-Staff" block is used to display a faculty and staff listing on a web page.

If an automatic listing is chosen, the listing is automatically updated as people are added and removed from a unit by the Identity & Access office in Information Technology.

If a manual listing is created, a ticket must be submitted (login required) each time a staffing change occurs.

Not sure if you site is set up with an automatic or manual listing? Ask the webteam (login required.)

If profile pages have been created for members of your unit, their names will link to those profile pages.

Tips for Submitting Updates to Fac/Staff Listings

  • The webteam does not process changes to Active Directory (AD). These changes include title changes, the addition or update of phone numbers, room numbers, or email addresses. Submit a ticket to IT if you need this information changed.
  • To have a person added, submit the person's exact email address. The email address is what pulls all of the other information into the listing. 
  • If your listing is not organized alphabetically, or is organized by different categories, please be sure to include where the new employee should be placed.
    • Here are a few examples of helpful language:
      • Add Bob in between Nancy and Susie
      • Add Bob under the "Gainesville Campus" section
      • Add Bob to the "Administrators" section
    • If we cannot make the changes immediately because your site has an automated faculty/staff listing, then the webteam will reach out to see what our next step should be.
  • We cannot process requests to add profile pictures that do not meet our style guidelines. If your department needs professional headshots, then please contact the University Relations photographer (login required.)
  • If you would like the "Default Listing," pictured below with the profile images showing, we ask that at least 75% of the unit entries have photos.

Naming Convention

  • Name of block should always begin with fd-fac-staff-

Please be sure to double check your naming structure to ensure there are no spaces in between any words or dashes. Any space in the name will disrupt the functionality of your block.

Correct: fd-fac-staff-chemistry

Incorrect: fd - fac-staff-chemistry
