Courtney Hall served as an orientation leader prior to graduating because she "enjoyed helping new students find as much to love about UNG as I did."
The faculty mentors who positively impacted her encouraged her to do the same for new students attending orientation.
"I was passionate about setting new students up for success, be it through general knowledge about the school or helping them create their first class schedule," Hall said.
Hall now serves as an academic advisor at UNG. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from UNG in December 2016, then added a Master of Public Administration from UNG in December 2020.
Hall originally chose UNG because of cost-efficiency and its proximity to her home; she planned to transfer to another institution after completing her core curriculum.
"However, following one year at UNG, I was completely in love with the students, faculty, and staff," Hall said. "After the Gainesville Campus began offering the bachelor's degree in political science, I knew that I would finish my degree here."
Her activities and awards at UNG included new student orientation leader, Student Alumni Board member, Politically Incorrect Club member, Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society member, UNG-Gainesville Honors Program member, and Clark-Theodore Outstanding Traditional Student finalist.
