UNG has the distinct privilege to call ourselves a Storm Ready University with the National Weather Service, which means that we have a 24/7 monitoring facility that will notify you of impending danger from severe weather such as a tornado.
We offer a 1-hour training course that explains our Emergency Action Plan (PDF) and dives into proactive steps you can take to enhance your safety while on campus. To request training, email us.
We offer a 1.5-hour training course to empower you to know what to do should you find yourself in a situation where a person needs first aid for bleed control. Bleed Control Kits are located in every UNG building’s AED cabinet. To request training, email us.
We offer American Heart Association-accredited CPR and AED training to teach you how to effectively perform CPR on a person and how to deploy an Automatic Electronic Defibrillator (AED). Every UNG building is equipped with an AED with an LCD screen that shows you how to operate the device. I encourage you to take a look at this device and make yourself aware of the location within the buildings you frequent most. The locations of these devices are in the main or prominent entrance to the building. To request training, email us.
Rape Aggression Defense Systems or R.A.D. is a self-defense program we provide to all campuses that teach techniques for self-defense. The course includes lecture, discussion and self-defense techniques suitable for women of all ages and abilities. To request training, email us.
