In 2016, the Appalachian Studies Center and a committee of UNG volunteers opened a food and supply pantry at the Historic Vickery House for students, staff and faculty. The UNG Food Pantry is not a university-funded service. We finance our services through financial and food donations as well as fundraising events.
This pantry uses a supermarket model; you “shop” for yourself to get the food you need for the week. Bring your UNG ID. If the door to the building is locked, call or text one of the numbers posted on the doors.
We cannot accept canned vegetables or ramen noodles at this time. We are completely out of bread, milk, eggs, frozen meat and/or entrees. We always need tuna fish, canned meat, peanut butter, and breakfast foods.
We always need volunteers for the pantry. Please contact Sherry Parker, Manager UNG Food Pantry - DAH, to inquire about volunteer opportunities.
Monday - Friday
11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Available by appointment only. Please call 706-974-4940.
If the building is locked, call the number of an on-call volunteer that is posted on the front and back door of the building. Bring your UNG ID.
Please email sherry.parker@ung.edu or call 706-864-1533.
