Membership of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation’s Launch Pad is a fairly simple process. Please read all of the content below, then complete the Launch Pad membership application .
Student members must be enrolled as a full time student at the University of North Georgia to become a member of the student member of the Launch Pad. The Launch Pad was established primarily for student entrepreneurial activities. UNG faculty and staff members may also apply.
Associate Membership
Associate members may be UNG alumni, community, or other non-UNG entrepreneurs. Associate members may not be assigned dedicated office space, but will have a business address plus access to conference rooms and events hosted at the Launch Pad. The member does not have to be a formally organized business entity but is expected to work on their business plan toward becoming a business.
Emerging enterprises, including their employees and their consultants who utilize University of North Georgia (UNG) Launch Pad facilities under this policy will retain ownership of all patentable inventions and discoveries. Launch Pad facilities must be clearly defined in advance of usage in terms of space allocation and duration for this policy to apply.
All inventions and discoveries conceived or reduced to practice using UNG owned or controlled facilities not covered within the scope of the Launch Pad client agreement shall belong to the University or the Research Foundation of the University in compliance with the Patents and Inventions Policy. Faculty acting in their capacity as company employees or officers and who also have ongoing campus research separate from company activities must keep separate log books of research activity distinguishing accomplishments for each entity.
All members guests, clients, visitors, and associates (collectively, “Members”) of the Launch Pad shall act in accordance with these Rules of Conduct, all relevant laws, and regulations (the “Rules”) to preserve the enjoyment, professional atmosphere and collaborative use of the Launch Pad at the University of North Georgia (UNG). The Launch Pad may modify the Rules at any time by posting updated or additional Rules to this web page.
The Launch Pad is designed to provide a professional, safe, comfortable and sound appropriate, state-of-the-art environment for UNG student, faculty and staff entrepreneurs and community startups to co-work, collaborate, and innovate. Users of the Launch Pad must be members in good standing to gain access to the facility and any programs provided.
Members are responsible for any damage to the Launch Pad or its equipment and materials.
Controlled substance and tobacco possession or use is prohibited. Alcohol may only be served in accordance with UNG and University System of Georgia policies and with the written prior consent of the Launch Pad.
Members have non-exclusive use of Launch Pad designated common areas during business hours. All other areas, including conference rooms, event rooms, and related equipment are subject to scheduling and may involve additional charges.
The Launch Pad may enter any area for emergency purposes, repair, inspection, cleaning or maintenance. Members will be verbally or electronically notified of such entry, as applicable.
Members, their agents, employees, or invitees shall not use, display, or reproduce the name of the Launch Pad, Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Mike Cottrell College of Business or University of North Georgia or any of their logos without the prior written consent of UNG University Relations or the Mike Cottrell College of Business Marketing Office. This requirement is vigorously enforced.
Members will comply with Launch Pad policies and procedures for scheduling visitors, conference rooms, events, and other Launch Pad related services. Any meeting requiring audio/visual equipment, catering, or staff support will be considered an event, and must be coordinated with the Launch Pad with at least two weeks’ notice. Additional fees may apply.
Members must remove any food, waste, or related materials from the Launch Pad when they leave each day and must keep their space(s), including lockers, clean.
Personal microwaves and refrigerators are not permitted unless approved by the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation – Dr. James Ruben Boling. Members shall place garbage in the nearest designated receptacle.
Members, their agents, employees and invitees shall at all times while using the Launch Pad observe and comply with University of North Georgia rules and regulations.
Members, their agents, employees and invitees shall observe and comply with the driving and parking signs and markers on the Launch Pad grounds and park in authorized spaces only.
No Member shall at any time occupy any part of the Launch Pad as sleeping or lodging quarters.
No member shall place, install or operate in any part of the Launch Pad, any engine, stove or machinery, or conduct mechanical operations or cook thereon or therein, or place or use in or about the Launch Pad any explosives, gasoline, kerosene, oil, acids, caustics, or any other inflammable, explosive, or hazardous material without prior written consent of the Launch Pad.
The Launch Pad is not responsible for lost or stolen personal property, equipment, money or jewelry regardless of whether such loss occurs when area is locked against entry or not.
No bird, fowl, dogs, animals or pets or any kind shall be brought into or kept in or about the Launch Pad, with the exception of service animals.
The Launch Pad will not permit entrance to Member’s offices by use of passkey controlled by the Launch Pad, to any person at any time without written permission by Member, except employees, contractors, or service personnel directly supervised or employed by the Launch Pad.
Member shall not block or obstruct entries, passages, doors, elevators, hallways or stairways and shall not place, empty or throw any rubbish, litter, trash or material of any nature into these areas, nor shall such areas be used at any time except for ingress or egress by Member, Member’s agents, employees or invitees.
Member shall not use the water closets or any other water fixtures for any purpose other than those for which they were constructed.
No person shall disturb the occupants of the Launch Pad by the use of any musical instruments, the making of raucous noises, or other unreasonable use. Members may only play music or provide amplification with the prior written consent of the Launch Pad.
No Members, their agents, employees or invitees shall throw anything out of the windows or off the roof of the Launch Pad or down the stairways or other passages.
Member shall not store any materials, equipment, products, etc. outside the Launch Pad.
Member shall not erect any sign or other insignia upon or in any part of the Launch Pad without prior written consent of the Launch Pad. The Launch Pad retains the right to remove any sign or other insignia at any time.
Member shall comply with all local and federal codes and ordinances.
The Launch Pad reserves the right to rescind any of these rules and make such other and further rules and regulations as in the judgment of the Launch Pad shall from time.
