Overview
Josie V. Toney is the Director of Development for the College of Arts and Letters at the University of North Georgia (UNG). As the institution’s largest academic unit, Arts and Letters is comprised of twelve departments aligned with the arts and humanities. Josie oversees and coordinates major gift fundraising efforts intended to bolster the success of the multifarious unit and all of its integral parts. Having served previously in an executive support role for University Relations at UNG, Josie is well-versed in the complex inner workings of the multi-campus regional university.
In her free time, she is a professional artist and children’s book illustrator. Along with institutional knowledge and intrinsic motivation, Josie brings to University Advancement collaborative relationship-building, connectivity, cohesive leadership and a creative mindset. A genuine advocate for the arts and humanities, Josie recognizes the importance of these disciplines in higher education and is driven toward advancing the College of Arts and Letters and UNG as a whole.
