Certification and Licensure
Professional Licensure and Certification Disclosure
Each state’s licensure board establishes educational requirements, standards of practice, residency rules, etc. These requirements may not match Georgia’s requirements. Students who plan to pursue a degree that leads to professional licensure or certification in a state other than Georgia should contact the program coordinator and the appropriate licensing entity for additional information and guidance. The University of North Georgia offers degree programs that meet the educational requirements students need to apply for professional licensure and certifications in Georgia. After receiving your license in Georgia, there are agreements and licensure compacts that may allow you to obtain a license to work in other states. Visit UNG’s Licensure and Certification Section for more information.
