    • Student veterans and their stories will be featured on NEST’s Instagram and Facebook pages.

    Veterans Appreciation Week Kick-Off

    Multiple Campus Locations – 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

    • “UNG Loves Our Vets” stickers will be available for faculty, staff, and students to wear to show support and appreciation for student veterans. Free coffee and breakfast will be provided while supplies last.
      • Cumming Campus, Lobby

    Visit with the VA

    Oconee Campus Student Resource Center Atrium – 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

    • A representative from Veterans Affairs will be on campus to answer questions regarding VA benefits. Military-connected students, faculty, and staff are invited.

    Gym Class Heroes Dodgeball

    Gainesville Campus Hugh Mills Physical Education Center – 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

    • Student Veterans of North Georgia are hosting a friendly dodgeball game to promote health and fun activities during Veterans Appreciation Week. All UNG students, faculty, and staff are invited. No pre-registration is required. Snacks and drinks will be provided while supplies last.     United States Marine Corps Birthday

    Dahlonega Campus Pennington Military Leadership Center – 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

    • The United States Marine Corps will celebrate the 247th year since its establishment on November 10, 1775.  To help the Marine Corps celebrate, all faculty, staff, students, active military, military veterans, and the general public are invited to attend a traditional cake-cutting ceremony, hear the Golden Eagle Band play the Marine’s Hymn, and enjoy the fellowship of Marines and their citizen supporters.  Sponsored by:  UNG Office of Leadership and Global Engagement

    National Roll Call

    Gainesville Campus Performing Arts Center – 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

    • The annual National Roll Call remembers those who have made the ultimate sacrifice during the global war on terror. In addition, those who have served in the past and those currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces will be honored and remembered. By completing this Honor/Memory of Military Personnel online form, family members and friends may submit names they would like honored or remembered during the ceremony. Names submitted in the past do not need to be resubmitted. Individuals who want to volunteer to read names during the event may register by completing the 2022 National Roll Call Name Reader Sign-Up form.

    Proud to be First Celebration - Gainesville Campus

    Gainesville Campus Robinson Ballroom  – 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
