      AMVETS Donation Drive Kick-Off

We ask UNG students, staff, and faculty to donate gently-used clothes for AMVETS. You will find boxes marked with the AMVETS logo on your home campus. The collection drive will start on Monday, November 8, and run until Friday, November 12. AMVETS exists to enhance the quality of life for all Veterans, their families, and survivors since 1944. AMVETS has made a long-term economic impact by providing assistance, jobs, and services to Veterans and their communities for more than 70 years. Your donation will go to the local AMVETS thrift store, where the profit directly benefits local Veterans.

This annual event is a tradition held on the Gainesville campus to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice during the Global War on terror. In addition, we honor those who have served in the past and those currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces by calling individual names.  We are pleased to announce that the annual National Roll Call event will be in person this year. It will also be live-streamed on NEST’s Veterans and Adult Learners Facebook page.
