The Presidential Ambassador Program offers a progressive leadership experience, with opportunities to take on increasing levels of responsibility, leadership, and professional development throughout your time at UNG.

Associate Presidential Ambassador

As an Associate Presidential Ambassador, you will provide exceptional and discreet customer service while gaining experience in a professional university environment. Reporting to the Program Coordinator, you will work in the Price Memorial Reception area.

Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist guests at the Price Memorial Reception.

Provide professional and discreet customer service to university constituents.

Prepare reports, signage, correspondence, and planning materials using Microsoft Office.

Assist with administrative tasks and ongoing office operations.

Provide support during university events, including commencement ceremonies.

Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and participate in team activities and professional development.

Requirements
Must be a UNG student enrolled in at least six credit hours.

Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Ability to work a minimum of 5–8 hours per week, plus additional event support.

Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.

Presidential Ambassador

As a Presidential Ambassador, you will serve as a representative of the Office of the President and the university while taking on increased responsibility within the Presidential Ambassador Program. Reporting to the Program Coordinator, you will mentor Associate Presidential Ambassadors, support and execute high-profile university events, and provide exceptional and discreet service to university constituents.

Key Responsibilities
Mentor and support Associate Presidential Ambassadors.

Represent the Office of the President and university at events and special engagements.

Provide administrative and event support for the Office of the President and university leadership.

Assist with the planning and execution of high-profile university events.

Participate in shadow shifts with university leaders to learn about their areas of responsibility, gain firsthand professional experience, and contribute to projects and initiatives within their offices.

Create reports, signage, correspondence, and event materials using Microsoft Office.

Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and contribute to ongoing program functions and professional development.

Requirements
Must be a UNG student enrolled in at least six credit hours.

Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Ability to work 8–15 hours per week, plus additional event support.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Demonstrated professionalism, communication, organization, and leadership skills.

The position also provides opportunities for increased responsibility and advancement within the program.

Presidential Ambassadors who demonstrate exceptional performance and leadership may be considered for promotion to Senior Presidential Ambassador.

Senior Presidential Ambassador

The Senior Presidential Ambassador is the highest student leadership position within the Presidential Ambassador Program. This role recognizes an outstanding Presidential Ambassador who has demonstrated consistent excellence, leadership, initiative, and commitment to the program. Senior Presidential Ambassadors take on expanded responsibilities in team leadership, recruitment, training, communications, and program development while continuing to serve as Presidential Ambassadors.

Recruitment & Hiring
Assist the Program Coordinator with the Presidential Ambassador recruitment process.

Coordinate candidate interviews and communications.

Support the selection and hiring process for new Associate Presidential Ambassadors.

Onboarding & Training
Assist with updating program procedures, policies, and the Presidential Ambassador Manual.

Coordinate new-hire onboarding.

Retreat & Professional Development
Assist with planning and executing the annual Presidential Ambassador retreat.

Develop and lead retreat sessions and other professional development opportunities.

Support ongoing professional development initiatives for the team.

Team Leadership & Communication
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with Presidential Ambassadors.

Lead team communications and staff meetings.

Meet regularly with the Program Coordinator to discuss team needs, program operations, and priorities.

Serve as a student leader and resource for Presidential Ambassadors and Associate Presidential Ambassadors.

Program Development
Support implementation of Presidential Ambassador Program goals and initiatives.

Assist with the development and oversight of each Ambassador's Personal and Professional Development (PPD) plan.

Provide feedback to the Program Coordinator regarding program operations, student development, and opportunities for improvement.

Application & Criteria
Must have served as a Presidential Ambassador for at least three semesters.

Must maintain a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA.

Must demonstrate consistent excellence, professionalism, leadership, initiative, and commitment to the Presidential Ambassador Program.

Interested candidates must notify the Program Coordinator of their intent to pursue promotion at least three weeks before the end of the semester.

The Program Coordinator will select candidates for promotion during the review cycle. A promotion review is not required to occur every semester.

No more than two Senior Presidential Ambassadors may serve at one time.
