We offer caring, confidential counseling and education to enhance your overall health at the Women's & Men's Health Clinic.
The clinic encourages all students to take the time to use the services at the health centers to educate and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Leading and maintaining a healthy lifestyle encourages a longer, happier life and is conducive to productive learning habits and success while in college.
Cost
The evaluation, treatment and/or consultation are included in the health fee.
There will be an additional charge for laboratory tests (i.e. PAP Smears, STD tests) and medications (i.e. birth control pills). Payments should be made at the Business Office by cash or check. The Business Office is located on the second floor of the Downtown Office Building on the Dahlonega Campus, and in the Administration Building on the Gainesville Campus.
Healthcare Services for Women
Wellness exams for women include a variety of tests including:
HPV testing
Pap smears
Sexually transmitted diseases testing
Breast exams
Routine labs
Pregnancy tests
Contraception counseling and education
Emergency contraception counseling
Counseling for sexual health concerns
Healthcare Services for Men
Focused exams for specializing in testicular health and sexually transmitted disease testing
Student Health Services is available May - August even to current UNG students who are not enrolled during the summer semester. Students who attended the previous spring semester and are enrolled in the upcoming fall semester can now access student health services in Dahlonega and Gainesville throughout the summer semester. Please call your preferred clinic to make an appointment. A health fee of $65.00 will be added to Banner in order to receive services.
Insurance Information
Students should have a copy of his or her insurance card with them. An available copy of your insurance card can be attached to your medical history form for information only. The clinic does not provide billing for insurance. The clinic does not treat auto-accidents or workman's compensation due to insurance requirements. The clinic does not fill out insurance claim forms. A school insurance policy is available for students to purchase.
