2019 International Education Week

The purpose of International Education Week is to promote cultural activities at the University of North Georgia. The Center for Global Engagement collaborates with academic departments and student groups so that we are putting on a week of cultural activities for global learning for both students, staff, faculty, and the community. People can learn listening, writing, speaking, reading in a different language in their own country. However, what they can't learn is the culture. I'm hoping to be a Foreign Service officer within the Department of State. The study abroad experience that I had is preparing me for that career. One of the events during International Education Week is the Passport Caravan hosted by the Council for International Education Exchange, which is also known as CIEE. CIEE hosts this kind of event all over the country, and we're really lucky to have been chosen at UNG to have them come with the Passport Caravan. The advice that I would give students that are thinking about studying abroad is just start the process. UNG has many offices that can help you. And just do it and go have the experience of your life.
