Hazing Video Transcript

At the University of North [music] Georgia, we soar high.

We lift each other up. We are Nighthawks and Nighthawks don't haze.

Hazing is not tradition. [music] It's not just fun in games.

It is dangerous, degrading, and unacceptable.

In the state of Georgia and on all UNNG campuses, hazing is illegal.

47% [music] of students come to college having experienced hazing.

55% [music] of college students involved in clubs, teams, and organizations experience hazing. 74% [music] of student athletes experience at least one form of hazing while in college.

For every 10 students [music] being hazed, only one of them realizes that hazing has occurred.

82% of deaths from hazing involve alcohol. Hazing isn't always [music] obvious. It can involve being pressured to drink.

And dur extreme workouts or even run errands. No matter what, it's not okay.

In 95% of hazing cases, students [music] who were aware they were hazed did not report it. Since 1970, there has been at least one [music] hazing related death on a college campus each year.

If you see hazing, report it. If you feel pressured, speak up.

You are never never alone. You are never alone.

We all have a responsibility to stop [music] hazing. Together. Together. Together. Together. Together. Together.

Together, we can make a difference. To report an incident of hazing at UNG, contact the Office of Student Integrity, our UNNG public safety, or submit a see something, say something report.
