Learn to Lead Confidently with Wyatt Nicholson Video Transcript

[Wyatt Nicholson, Freshman, Business Administration Major] -  I'm Wyatt Nicholson and UNG is where I lead.

Moving from Fort Worth Texas here to Blue Ridge Georgia, I got to be completely honest, it was pretty terrifying. Just because knowing that I was, I'm starting basically fresh was just a sure set thing in my mind. And just you know I wanted to make new friends. I wanted to have a good community here. I have some friends that go to Texas AM, which was in my mind about going to and they don't even know their professor's name most of the times. And so I just think here I have a relationship with most of my professors and they care about me. They care about my success and that just means so much to me. And that was what drew me to the Blue Ridge Campus and to University of North Georgia.

So initially I wasn't going to be a part of the Scholars Program. I just kind of wanted to be you know, I guess you could say in normal classes. But whenever uh Professor Price, he's our Political Science Professor here on the Blue Ridge Campus, he'd reached out to me and he kind of let me know that coming from out of state it would be a great way to meet new people, through the Scholars Program and so I signed up for it.

Basically, for that so that way I could have you know new friends and just have a great community to surround myself with. But upon actually getting involved with the Scholars Program it's actually done so much more for me than just that. It's also a lot for me to get involved with the community with our leadership cohort. It's just amazing stuff that I never thought I would be able to get involved with here in the Blue Ridge Campus but it's all I do to the fact that I was able to help with the Scholars Program. But obviously attending this new campus it was very scary but luckily the people here including the faculty and the students are just outstanding in every way. And they made me feel so welcome.
