UNG Blue Ridge Campus Tour Video Transcript
Nestled in the mountains of Fannin County lies the new 13,000 square foot classroom space of the University of North Georgia’s Blue Ridge Campus. This campus was designed with the student and their experience in mind from the forefront. The new Blue Ridge Campus embodies the growth from 18 students when the campus opened in 2015 to more than 225 students that it supports now.
The new standalone campus features 3,500 square feet of classroom space, which includes a computer lab, student success center and full biology lab, that can later be equipped to offer chemistry. The common area is a gathering place for students, group meetings, studying, and activities. The lobby is also equipped with spotlight-casting TV screens. This technology expands programming for everyone at the Blue Ridge Campus from streaming programs such as financial aid workshops, university-wide programming and events.
The Blue Ridge Campus focuses on providing student support services such as tutoring, library services, a food pantry and our lunching in a crunch program. In addition to the classroom space, the Blue Ridge campus also offers faculty office space and a State-of-the-Art conference room.
The Blue Ridge Campus has opened so many doors and opportunities for our students. The expanded space means UNG can now offer more courses, allowing students to spend more semesters in Blue Ridge before transferring to Dahlonega or Gainesville to complete their degrees. The new campus is truly this community's and they are equally excited about the opportunities and the future of the campus as well. UNG Blue Ridge is and will continue to be a game changer for this community and region.
