Registration Information

Banner Registration Dates and Times

To find your registration dates and times, please login to UNG Banner Webnew window and follow these links:
  1. Student
  2. Registration
  3. Check for Registration Time and Holds
  4. Select your desired semester/year and submit

Holds

Please be sure to check your BannerWeb account for any holds. All holds should be resolved prior to registration. Who must seek assistance to register? If you cannot self-register due to Learning Support requirements or certain holds, you must:

  1. See your advisor before your registration day/time arrives
  2. Complete a registration form (permit/scheduling worksheet) signed by your advisor
  3. Once your registration day/time arrives, Dahlonega and Gainesville students should submit the completed registration form to the Registrar's Office for processing, Cumming students should go to Room 146 at the Cumming campus for assistance, and Oconee students should go to the Oconee campus Administration Building.

Maximum Hours/Course Loads

The maximum number of hours for which anyone will be able to register will be 20 credit hours in the spring and fall (16 hours in the summer) except for those students with learning support or CPC requirements, or those students not in good academic standing. These students will have a maximum of 17 credit hours (spring and fall).

Summer 2016 Schedule

Continuing/Active Students

Registration for summer will be from March 28 - April 15 for continuing students (students who last attended spring 2016, summer 2015, and/or fall 2015).

Classes Available (Undergraduate Students only)

  • During the March 28 - April 15 registration period, Gainesville, Cumming, and Oconee students are permitted to cross-register for Gainesville, Cumming, and Oconee classes but will not be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes except in specified programs, and Dahlonega students will only be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes in most programs.
  • On April 13-15, and during the add/drop periods of the summer semester, students seeking a bachelor’s degree will be permitted to register for courses offered at any campus.

Summer Add/Drop Dates

  • Maymester - May 9 (only Maymester classes can be registered for on this date)
  • Full session - June 1-3
  • First Short session - June 1-2
  • Second Short session - June 1-3 and July 6-7

New Degree/Certificate Seeking Students

Cumming, Gainesville or Oconee Campus

  • If you are attending an orientation on, you will be able to register during your orientation session for courses on the Cumming, Gainesville or Oconee campuses.
  • Registration date(s) for degree seeking students not required to attend orientation will be December 7 - 11.
  • If you do not attend an orientation session, you will be permitted to register for classes beginning January 4.

Dahlonega Campus

  • If you are attending an orientation on the Dahlonega campus, you will be able to register during your orientation session for courses on the Dahlonega campus.
  • If you do not attend an orientation session, you will be permitted to register for classes beginning January 11.
  • Registration for courses at other UNG campuses will only be permitted during the add/drop period.

New Non-Degree/Non-Certificate Seeking Students

Class registration will begin on May 9 for Maymester classes only beginning at 7:30 a.m., and on June 1 at 7:30 a.m. for other Summer session classes.  Approved course list for those students who have not earned a degree.

TAP Students

Class registration will begin on May 6 beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Transient Students

Class registration will begin on May 9 for Maymester classes only beginning at 7:30 a.m., and on June 1 at 7:30 a.m. for other Summer session classes.

Fall 2016 Schedule

Continuing/Active Students

  • Registration/Add/Drop for fall semester will re-open from July 18-22 for continuing students (students who last attended summer 2016, spring 2016 and/or fall 2015).
    • Cross-campus registration/add/drop will not be available during this period (see below).
  • Updated!  On August 17, the start of the Add/Drop period (August 17 - 26) will be based on student overall earned hours:
    • 8:30 a.m. - 90 or more hours
    • 9:30 a.m. - 60 or more hours
    • 10:30 a.m. - 30 or more hours
    • 11:30 a.m. - 0 or more hours
    • Cross-campus registration will be available during this period for eligible students.

Cross-Campus Registration (Undergraduate Students only)

  • During the July 18-22 registration period, Gainesville, Cumming, and Oconee students are permitted to register/add/drop for Gainesville, Cumming, and Oconee classes but will not be permitted to register/add/drop for Dahlonega classes except in specified programs, and Dahlonega students will only be permitted to register/add/drop for Dahlonega classes in most programs. Cross-campus registration/add/drop will re-open during the add/drop period, August 17-26.

New Degree/Certificate Seeking Students

  • If you are attending an orientation, you will be able to register during your orientation session for courses.
  • If you do not attend an orientation session, you will be permitted to register for classes beginning August 17 at 7:30 am.

New Non-Degree/Non-Certificate Seeking Students

Class registration will begin on August 22 beginning at 7:30 a.m..  Approved course list for those students who have not earned a degree.

TAP Students

Class registration will begin on August 10 beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Transient Students

Class registration will begin on August 22 beginning at 7:30 a.m.
