    Biology

The Department of Biology at the University of North Georgia offers rigorous and well-rounded degree programs with low student-to-faculty ratios. We also offer several original research opportunities.

The faculty in the biology department get to know students individually and take an interest in their lives beyond the classroom. Students are held to a high standard, but resources are provided to help the students succeed. The faculty and staff of the biology department have created a challenging, yet nurturing environment.

Read more about why you should consider biology at UNG.

    Entry Deadline: Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 5 p.m.

The Health & Natural Sciences building needs a mural! Enter for a chance to see your design painted in the HNS atrium. (Submission of a design idea does not obligate you to paint the mural.)

    Entry Guidelines:

    • Design must be biology-related.
    • Design may be rendered digitally or by hand, and it must fill an 8.5''x11" piece of paper.
    • Entries should be submitted to Margaret (Meg) Smith by email (margaret.smith@ung.edu) or as a hard copy delivered to HNS 431.

To help us develop a budget for the mural, please try to include with your submission an estimate of needed supplies (e.g., number and size of brushes; color, amount and type of paint needed; and any other supplies that will be of notable expense).
