Memorial and Remembrance Gardens on Gainesville Campus

Located just outside the Student Center on the University of North Georgia’s Gainesville Campus, the Memorial and Remembrance Gardens are a beautiful spot to spend time studying or in quiet reflection. The memorials located there, and many of the plants and trees themselves, are UNG’s way of memorializing faculty, staff and students who have died.

The site also includes honors for many retirees of the university, leaving a tangible and long-lasting way to honor their service to UNG.

The rose garden on the site was dedicated to Robert Loebl in recognition of his passion, dedication, and commitment to then-Gainesville Junior College Community. Mr. Loebl taught at the school from 1968 until his death in January 1979.

To help keep these areas clean and honor the memories of those memorialized in the gardens, we ask that you remove any trash as you leave.
