The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers American Chemical Society (ACS) approved programs. We also offer students a variety of opportunities inside the classroom and laboratory. While allowing the student to grow and develop academically, our programs also build on the liberal arts mission of the University of North Georgia. Students have the opportunity to participate in undergraduate research, field trips, chemistry outreach programs, and service opportunities.
The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry has established a close working relationship with Aeon Global Health, a provider of services in cancer genomics, toxicology, pharmacogenomics health technology applications. Multiple internship opportunities are available in the fall, spring, and summer.
The ACS certified Bachelor’s degree provides concentrations in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical physics, secondary education certification or pre-engineering. Alternatively, students can pursue an Associate’s degree in chemistry or geology. Which one is right for you?
