Germany
Erlangen, Germany: Dating back to 1002 AD, Erlangen is a “college town” in the southern state of Bavaria that is steeped in history and culture. Home to the Friedrich Alexander Universitat, Erlangen is a medium sized city that is small enough to get to know well in a few weeks, and still large enough to have plenty to do. Students will be placed in bilingual schools and all German citizens learn English starting in 1st grade, so no German language skills are necessary for participation. Students will have the opportunity for independent travel on the weekends.
This program will provide education students with four weeks of their final clinical internship requirement while giving them an opportunity to teach in German schools (instruction in English) and live with a host family to experience the German culture. It is part of an FAU-UNG teacher intern exchange program.
