Biology (B.S.)
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) with a major in biology is a versatile degree program that provides students with a range of options post-graduation regardless of whether they plan to start their career immediately or attend a graduate program. Our bachelor of science in biology prepares students well for the rigor of professional programs such as physician assistant, pharmacy, medical, and physical therapy. Many of our students also choose to continue their studies in biology by going on to a master’s or doctorate level program at another university.
Some courses are required of all biology majors, but students have a variety of options for upper level classes that allow them to tailor the degree to their interests and needs. For example, a student planning to study wildlife management in graduate school could choose elective courses in ornithology and conservation biology. Likewise, a student could take upper level electives that satisfy the admissions requirements of the professional program of their choice.
