    Economics Minor

    The economics minor is offered to UNG students completing a major in any bachelor’s degree program, including the B.B.A. degree, at the same time as completing the minor. The minor is 15 credit hours and requires a grade of C or higher in the required courses to complete.

    • ECON 2105 - Principles of Macroeconomics

      This principles of economics course is intended to introduce students to concepts that will enable them to understand and analyze economic aggregates and evaluate economic policies. Includes the foundation of economic analysis, understanding the concepts of demand and supply and price determination, money and credit systems, determining the level of aggregate macroeconomic activity, the impact of globalization on macroeconomic activity, and identification of underlying social goals. Credit will not be given for both ECON 2105 and ECON 2105H.

    • ECON 3550 - International Economics

      This course will introduce both the microeconomic and macroeconomic issues relevant to the economic relations among countries. The course provides a framework for consistent reasoning about international flows of goods, factors of production, financial assets, and trade policy in an open economy.

      Prerequisite/Corequisite:
      Prerequisites: ECON 2105 and MATH 1111 with grades of C or higher, or ECON 2106 with a grade of C or higher

    • ECON 3560 - Development Economics

      This course is a study of the major issues in the field of development economics today. It examines and analyzes current social and economic conditions in developing countries. It covers topics such as patterns and measurements of economic development, poverty, income inequality and human capital development; the role of institutions, policies, and programs in stimulating development; and, issues of agriculture, trade, technology and sustainable development.

      Prerequisite/Corequisite:
      Prerequisite(s): ECON 2106 with a grade of C or higher, or ECON 2105 and Area A MATH course with grades of C or higher
