Overview

Dr. Johnson joined the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs in July of 2022 bringing twenty years of experience as an administrator, coach, educator, and mentor. Dr. Johnson’s interest is in working with students to ensure they have an accessible and equitable educational experience and will serve as the strategic leader of the department.

Before joining UNG Dr. Johnson spent a year Hartwick College in NY as the Assistant Director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Prior to that he had an extensive career in intercollegiate athletics as both and athletic director and a coach.

Dr. Johnson is a lifelong learner; as a first-generation student, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education (Sports Administration) from Lock Haven University. He then went on to earn his master’s degree in Sports Coaching from the United States Sports Academy. Finally, in 2021, he earned his doctorate in Higher Education Management from the University of Pittsburgh.
