The Division of Professional and Continuing Education (PCE) at the University of North Georgia (UNG) is the recipient of three national 2017 Leader Excellence and Development (LEAD) Awards.

UNG's PCE ranked in the top 10 for three different award categories – number one in the nation in Certificate Program with an Emphasis On Human Resources, number five in Continuing Education Program With Emphasis On Leadership And Organizational Development, and number nine nationally in Certificate Program With Emphasis On Leadership And Organizational Development. Other top ten finishers include Carnegie Mellon, Seton Hall, Vanderbilt, and Stanford. UNG PCE was the only institution to place in the top 10 in all three award categories.

"We are thrilled to be recognized as a national leader in both leadership and human resources training. Our notable peer group demonstrates UNG PCE’s commitment to providing the very best in workforce development training. My team continues to serve UNG and the extended community with the utmost excellence," said Dr. Wendy Estes, director of professional and continuing education.

For the past 34 years, the LEAD Awards, formerly known as Leadership Excellence Awards, have identified and recognized the top leadership programs and organizations and their strategies and solutions in their yearly ranking. This year's award winners have been published in the February 2017 edition of the Leadership Excellence Essentials e-publication.
