The University of North Georgia's (UNG) online Master of Science in criminal justice has been named to Grad School Hub's 10 most affordable online criminal justice master's programs.

Ranked No. 4, UNG was the lone Georgia school on the top-10 list.

Dr. Timothy Hayes, associate professor of criminal justice, said UNG's program is flexible in course delivery and cost.

"We try to keep costs down so that people in the field can afford to take the courses even if they don't have employee assistance or tax funding," Hayes said.

Grad School Hub used the National Center for Education Statistics' College Navigator database to help it form the rankings.

"Our staff evaluated each college's quality by double checking regional and national accreditation statuses with the Council on Higher Education Accreditation. Every chosen school had to feature at least one recognition from respected ranking publications like Washington Monthly or U.S. News & World Report," according to the article announcing the rankings. "Our final step was ordering the prospective online universities from highest to lowest average graduate tuition in-state."
