Physical therapy clinical education director named to state board

    December 10, 2018

    Article By: Clark Leonard

Dr. Destiny Hebert, director of clinical education for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the University of North Georgia (UNG), has been appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal to the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy (GSBPT).

Hebert will serve on the board's Rules Committee, a group that interprets rules and adjusts them as the healthcare field evolves. She said this role will entail ensuring patients and physical therapists are protected.

Members of the GSBPT generally serve three-year terms. Hebert said it's "definitely an honor to be selected to serve."

"It's nice to be able to be present to hear concerns that are going on in our state to make sure we can bring them back to our university, such as researching underserved groups," Hebert said. "At UNG our mission is to reach rural communities and provide the primary care for them."

Hebert is a 2006 alumnus of UNG.
