The Dahlonega Women's Club recently donated $1,000 to the Veteran and Adult Learners Programs (VALP) at the University of North Georgia (UNG).

VALP is the point-of-contact concierge for the adult and veteran students and provides advisement as requested, American Council on Education transcript reviews, portfolio counseling, career advisement, and mentoring. VALP also works with faculty and staff to provide training on how to assist adult learners and veteran students.

"The UNG veterans and I deeply appreciate the kindness and support of the Dahlonega Women's Club," said Christy Orr, assistant director of student life for VALP. "We are humbled and grateful for their support of our local veterans. VALP plans to use the funds to assist veterans at UNG when they are in need financially."
