Before he became the director of the Student Money Management Center at UNG, Jones worked as a financial planner. Now, he works to enhance financial literacy with college students through individual coaching and in classroom settings.

Along with his master's degree in business administration, Jones is a certified financial education instructor through the National Endowment for Financial Education and a certified personal financial manager through Inceptia. He is also a member of the Higher Educational Financial Wellness Alliance.
