Register with SDS

If you are a new or current student seeking services or accommodations, we look forward to assisting you. Student Disability Services (SDS) serves as a resource and an advocate for Students with Disabilities to ensure an equal access learning environment.

For COVID purposes, please note: Registration with Student Disability Services involves working with students that have an underlying condition and where there is a concern for themselves. The academic accommodations related to COVID-19 are NOT meant to address circumstances for students who care for or live with individuals at higher risk for severe illness with COVID-19.

It is important to keep in mind that the registration process can take 1 to 4 weeks. The timeline depends on a number of different factors, including the nature of the requested accommodations, the evaluation of supporting documentation, and the availability of coordinators for scheduling appointments.

Students interested in applying for accommodations should complete the three steps listed below:

Step 1: Review the Intake Packet, complete, and submit

Students needing to register with Student Disability Services must complete the intake packet.

Step 2: Obtain appropriate and relevant documentation of disability

  • Please submit documentation in the following formats only:  JPEG, Word, PDF
  • Review the Disability Documentation Guidelines.
  • Note that an IEP and/or 504 Plan are not sufficient documentation to establish eligibility, but may be included.
  • Documentation that is not current but otherwise meets college guidelines may be eligible for one semester of provisional accommodations while student seeks re-evaluation.
  • Tips for scanning documents with a cell phone (PDF)

Step 3: Schedule an intake appointment with a Disability Services Assistant Director/Coordinator

  • Student Disability Services will be contacting the student to schedule their intake appointment once they have received the intake packet submission.
  • Appointment scheduling may vary by campus.
  • Provide UNG Student Disability Services copies of your documentation during your intake appointment if you have not submitted it in step 2.

Please contact Student Disability Services office on your campus to speak with a staff member.
