UNG’s Got Your Six
Mission Statement
The mission of UNG's Got Your Six training program is to empower UNG faculty and staff to effectively support student veterans as they transition from military life to the college environment. The phrase "Got Your Six" signifies a commitment to looking out for one another, reflecting the camaraderie and support inherent in military culture. Through this training, participants will gain a deeper understanding of military experiences, enabling them to foster a supportive and welcoming atmosphere for student veterans. UNG's Got Your Six stickers will identify designated supportive spaces where faculty and staff can assist veterans and connect them with valuable resources, enhancing their sense of purpose and engagement on campus.
Vision
Our vision is to cultivate a network of trained advocates through UNG's Got Your Six across all UNG campuses, creating a caring and supportive community for student veterans and military-connected students. By promoting open communication, we aim to enhance well-being and academic achievement, ensuring that veterans feel valued and engaged in their educational journey.
