    UNG Chinese Flagship Video Transcript

    Whether you want to pursue a career in government service,

    the ROTC Chinese Language Flagship can help you.

    that our army will be looking for.
    Chinese is spoken by over 1 billion people around the world
    US-China cooperation and relations ensure that this language will remain
    critical for business and government for the foreseeable future, and career
    opportunities requiring Chinese language skills can be found in almost any field.
    Being a military student and a military cadet,
    if you want to go into the DoD there's a plethora of different agencies and
    opportunities with the government and also with civilian organizations who
    would be thrilled to have a superior level Chinese linguist.
    The ROTC Chinese Language Flagship provides the opportunity for you to develop cultural
    and language expertise that will help you set career goals for a globalizing society.
    US businesses need bilingual employees to compete internationally
    flagship graduates leverage their superior language and cultural skills in
    various careers offering inter cultural perspectives to employers in federal and
    state governments global businesses and non-governmental organizations we have a
    vast need for Chinese speakers and
    we need future leaders both military and civilian who are going to be able to
    understand cross cultural relations
    we need leaders who are going to be able to communicate effectively and
    collaborate with not even people within our nation
    but across borders. Regardless of whether our students are
    cadets or civilians
    we've attracted a lot of interest from governmental agencies like
    the Central Intelligence Agency, the FBI, the National Security Agency. They need students who
    are well-versed in language and culture and who may have another skill in
    addition to their language skill and then can move into their area of
    expertise and begin working immediately upon graduation.
