Brandon Rosas
Brandon Rosas is a senior Film and Digital Media major on the Gainesville Campus and a Transfer Coach.
Brandon's passion for film and storytelling began from simply watching movies and tv shows. He loved to watch the behind the scenes footage, study the cinematics, and learn how the sets were built, and he was inspired by the process of building something and telling a story from the ground up. Brandon strongly believes that everyone has a story to tell, and he’s passionate about not only telling his story, but also encouraging others to tell their own.
Brandon transferred to UNG after he completed his freshman year at another school fully online. He enjoyed getting to be on campus and interacting with other students, and he quickly found a group of friends who shared his passions for filmmaking and storytelling. While transferring to a new school was challenging, he knows he made the right choice in coming to UNG, and he decided to become a Transfer Coach to help other transfer students navigate the process.
If you ask Brandon what he’s most proud of, he’ll tell you it’s how much he’s grown as a person during his time here. He used to be more shy and even asking a question in class would terrify him. Now, he’s not afraid to ask for help, to advocate for himself, and to put himself out there.
Brandon’s advice for future Nighthawks is to remember that life is a series of steps and obstacles that you overcome and grow through. When you grow, you learn from your growth and start to build a better future for yourself and those around you.
