Elias Quintero
Elias Quintero has found his niche in leadership roles as a University of North Georgia (UNG) student. Quintero serves as president of Nighthawks Entertainment at UNG's Gainesville Campus and is the chief officer of information for the Latino Student Association (LSA).
He seeks to incorporate the ideas of others in his leadership approach.
"It helps me think outside of the box," Quintero said. "Sometimes people address things I didn't think about. Working with many people has been enlightening and educating to view others' perspective in how they execute their goals and ambitions."
Quintero, an Oakwood, Georgia, resident, expects to graduate in May 2026 with a bachelor's degree in biology. He is also pursuing an associate degree in general studies with a concentration in science.
Quintero enjoys the chance to influence those around him.
"Leadership is a role one picks up to demonstrate a sense of guidance for others," Quintero said. "It's being a role model, providing inspiration for others."
According to Quintero, UNG has been an amazing place for connecting with others.
"The friendships I have made in the journey through my college career have been by far the most rewarding experience I have received — all the countless memories I have made through working with other officers, directors and members of organizations is something I know I will cherish once I've graduated," he said. "My growth as a person and a leader has also been very rewarding. Being able to recognize how far I've reached in my leadership journey in comparison to when I initially began when I was a freshman is something I am proud of."
He aims to have an internship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) before graduating. Quintero wants to conduct lab research that aids in offering health and safety guidance for battling diseases.
