Off-Campus Access

GALILEO is an online service that allows users to search through many databases for journal articles and primary documents. 

You will use your normal UNG username and password to log in to Galileo.

GIL-Find@UNG is an online service that allows users to search for books, e-books, and DVDs at your local UNG library location.

You can also search for books at other schools in the University System of Georgia and request them through GIL Express. From the GIL-Find Catalog change the drop-down menu from University of North Georgia to University System of Georgia, formerly referred to as the Universal Catalog.

If you need an item that you can’t get through GIL Express, you may request the item through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). All current UNG students, faculty, and staff may request ILL items through ILLiad. Your ILLiad username and password are the same as your campus username and password.

Many areas of the UNG website request a campus username and password. This is the combination you will use to access UNG email, BANNER registration, etc.

Username is the first letter of your first name, first letter of your middle name, first four letters of your last name, and last four digits of your 900 number.

Example:

Username: jasmit1118

• John A. Smith = jasmit
• student # 90001118 = 1118

Password is the last four numbers of your Social Security number, followed by your two-digit date of birth.

Example:

Password: 345609

• SSN 555-55-3456
• birthday July 9

                *if you don’t have a Social Security number, use 0000

Students may be prompted for their proxy server login when using electronic resources and databases.   

Last name - Enter your full last name. If your last name contains any punctuation, spaces, or suffixes, use them, for example: If your last name is O'Conner, enter: o'conner; If your last name is Smith-Bates, enter: smith-bates; If your last name is Baker Jones, enter: baker jones; If your last name includes a suffix, enter it also, such as Morrison IV, enter: morrison iv or Brown Jr. enter: brown jr.

ID# - Don't know your UNG ID number, also called your 900 number? It's located on your Nighthawks Card or you can look it up on the activate my account web page.
