Managed Print

UNG's Managed Print system is designed to reduce waste, increase security, and redirect institutional savings back into student services. By unifying print services across all campuses, IT and the President's Committee for Sustainability created a more accountable and environmentally friendly campus culture that:

  • Reduces waste: Approximately 12% of print jobs are never picked up. By requiring a manual release, we aim to save over 500,000 sheets of paper annually.
  • Enhances security: Your documents won't sit unattended in a tray. They only print when you are physically at the device.
  • Cost Efficienct: UNG spends roughly $588,000 per year on printing. This initiative targets $200,000 in annual savings, allowing funds to be reinvested into student resources.

How It Works

Printing is now more flexible. You can send a document from any campus computer and release it at any designated student printer release station (student copier) on any UNG campus.

  1. Send: Print your document as usual from a campus computer.
  2. Swipe: Find any student print release station and swipe your UNG ID card, or log in using your UNG credentials on the touch screen.
  3. Print: Select your file on the screen to release the job.
