UNG's President’s Committee for Sustainability together with Information Technology (IT) Services rolled out a new managed print program in summer 2021.
As indicated in the UNG Comprehensive Administrative Review report, historical data indicates that the university spends about $588,000 per year on printing. With the managed print system, we are looking at potential savings of more than $200,000, some of which could be directed to other student services.
Managed print went live in fall of 2021 for all student accounts.
Faculty and staff are scheduled to start using managed print near the end of 2021. They will have the same features as students. Eventually, managed print will lead to a decrease in desktop printers.
The switch to a managed print system will save the university money and allow us to be more environmentally friendly.
Additionally, information will be provided as the program gets closer to a full launch.
Sincerely,
