Languages at UNG

Our community is a global one, full of the richness and vibrancy that different languages and cultures bring. If we are to participate in this community and understand our global neighbors, we need to be able to communicate clearly and effectively with them and understand their cultures.

Language learning is about personal growth. To communicate in another language is to see the world differently, to experience it with a freshness and a new perspective that is life changing.

UNG provides a learning experience in which you not only learn a language, you learn about a people.

We have two language departments: Modern & Classical Languages, and Spanish. Explore their sites and see how you can learn more about this global community we live in through language.

Spanish

With the increasing number of Spanish speaking citizens in the United States and so many countries that have Spanish as their native language, a department has been devoted to Spanish to better serve our students. And starting Fall 2018 we will also have Portuguese.
