Here at UNG, our Interdisciplinary Healthcare students will have the opportunity to choose a concentration in areas of study such as data analytics, healthcare administration, data privacy, and more. Our instructors are equipped with not only doctoral level education in healthcare systems, but also with real world experiences in Big Data processing and privacy, nursing, information systems, and management.

Note: Please be aware that enrollment in a health profession education program requires hands-on clinical learning experiences in a variety of settings, where clinical partners may require vaccinations to engage in learning. Some clinical partners do not accept vaccination waivers, and, in such circumstances, the university is not able to arrange alternate clinical experiences for students. Failure to provide proof of vaccination may impede a student’s ability to complete the clinical education components required to graduate and sit for licensure or certification to practice.

    Why HSIA

    • Resume-building experiences. You'll receive a contemporary, engaging learning experience from College of Health Sciences and Professions faculty who are dedicated to exceptional teaching and student success.

    • Engaged faculty. The college employs professionally - diverse specialists whose primary responsibility is teaching excellence. This faculty also brings a depth of industry experience to the classroom.

    • The HSIA industry is multi-faceted. The Healthcare Services and Informatics Administration program is a highly versatile degree that addresses the combined clinical, technical, and business needs of health-related professionals. Students gain knowledge of how technology, people, health, and the healthcare system interrelate. In addition, they develop the ability to use technology and information management to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes.

    • Flexible Online Classes and Senior Capstone. The Healthcare Services and Informatics Administration program is offered entirely online. The online learning platform makes it easy to work anywhere at any time. In their senior year, students will step anyway from the computer in order to apply the skills from a variety of courses in data management, analytics, and leadership to complete a Capstone project/Applied Learning Experience in previously chosen concentration area.
    • Be job search ready. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field of health informatics is estimated to grow at a rate as high as 21%, which is 7% higher than the average rate of job growth. This will provide for approximately 50,000 new jobs just in the next few years alone. And it’s not just the number of jobs that is growing, but also the diversity of the positions and specialties available.
