The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry offers three American Chemical Society (ACS) certified degrees. Perhaps the most versatile degree is the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with a major in chemistry and a biochemistry concentration. This degree is also the second-most popular degree in the department.
The biochemistry curriculum is centered on the five traditional chemistry sub-disciplines:
analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry and biochemistry.
Students also select from electives in advanced biochemistry and biology to complete their biochemistry coursework.
