Professional Licensure and Certification Information for Athletic Training Degree Programs
The University of North Georgia offers degree programs that fulfill the educational requirements for students to apply for professional licensure or certification in Georgia. However, these programs may not meet the education requirements in other states.
Educational requirements vary by state or certification board, and there may be additional requirements that must be met. Students are encouraged to reach out to the program coordinator and the relevant licensing entity for further information and guidance.
Professional Licensure or Certification Disclosure
Athletic Training Education (B.S.)
Master of Science with a Major in Athletic Training (MSAT)
At the time of graduation from the University of North Georgia, the athletic training student is prepared to take the Board of Certification (BOC) for the Athletic Trainer exam. Successful completion of this exam enables the student to become a nationally certified athletic trainer. Passing the BOC exam is required before submitting the athletic trainer licensure application to the Georgia Board of Athletic Trainers.

Upon the successful completion of the curriculum, University of North Georgia graduates will have met the educational requirements for athletic trainer licensure in Georgia.
Licensure requirements are not met
University of North Georgia curriculum does not meet the educational requirements in the following states, U.S. territories, and District of Columbia.
