Overview

Dr. Kauffeldt joined the history faculty at Gainesville State College (now UNG) in 2009.  His area of concentration is the Modern Middle East, focusing specifically on Orientalism, Western imperialism/influence in the region, and Armenian history.  The courses he teaches are mainly history classes, including HIST 1111, HIST 1112, HIST 2112, and HIST 2119, but he has also taught a few special topics classes on global issues as well.  In the few years before arriving in Georgia, he also held several one-year positions as a visiting assistant professor at the University of Central Florida, the University of North Florida, and Furman University.  Dr. Kauffeldt is a citizen of Denmark but has lived in the United States since the late 1980s.
