    Transfer Personalized Campus Visit

NEST offers transfer students who have confirmed their acceptance the opportunity to schedule a transfer personalized campus visit. It includes a one-on-one appointment with a transfer support staff, a campus tour with a transfer coach, and campus resource drop-ins.

The transfer personalized campus visit will be available from September - November for spring 2024 students. It is open to Dahlonega and Gainesville students and their families. The sessions are limited due to availability.

You may schedule a transfer personalized campus visit by selecting your home campus and completing the form. After signing up, you will receive an email with more detailed information about the visit. Allow at least two hours for the campus visit.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    • What is the difference between the admissions tour offered by Undergraduate Admissions and the personalized campus visit hosted by the NEST?

The tour that is offered by Undergraduate Admissions is a generalized tour to familiarize prospective students with what UNG has to offer. The Transfer Personalized Campus Visit is led by the transfer support staff and transfer coaches to customize the visit surrounding the student’s interest. It would allow for short visits upon request with specific departments to drop in or schedule an appointment. The visit is also limited to one student and their family or guests as opposed to the admissions tour that can accommodate several families.

    • How long is the Transfer Personalized Campus visit?

The Transfer Personalized Campus Visit is scheduled for two hours.

    • Am I able to request a campus that is different than my home/accepted campus?

We offer a Transfer Personalized Campus Visit for the Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses. Therefore, students can only request their home campus for a personalized campus visit at this time. If there is a need for the student to tour another campus, the Office of Admissions offers campus tours.

    • Will I be able to see a room within a specific Residence Hall on the Dahlonega Campus?

The rooms will not be available to view during your Transfer Personalized Campus Visit. However, a request can be made with Residence Life for the option to view the laundry room/common space of your assigned Residence Hall during your visit.

    • If I anticipate needing accommodations, will there be a chance to request them on the personalized campus tour?

Yes. There is a section on the reservation form to request any accommodations necessary.

    • Will I be able to meet with my advisor during the personalized campus visit?

You may be able to talk with an advisor in the Academic Advising Office if needed. In addition, advisor appointments can be made through AdviseMe. Advisors can be viewed by the student on your Tranguid in Banner.

    • Will there be food provided during the tour?

Food will not be provided during the personalized campus visit. However, each campus has a variety of options for snacks, drinks, or meals on a self-pay basis. The campus dining options will be available. Visit UNG dining website for hours of operation prior to the arrival.

    • What is the signup deadline to register for a personalized campus visit?

Registration will close one week prior to the date of the personalized campus visit date. Visit slots are on a first come, first served basis. We cannot guarantee a visit time slot for a particular day or time. Contact NEST if you have any questions regarding this.

    • Does the Transfer Personalized Campus Visit replace my orientation requirement?

Yes. Attending a Transfer Personalized Campus Visit through NEST will replace the orientation requirement for transfer students.
