Parent & Family Orientation (PFO)

Parents & Family Orientation

Your student has decided to attend the University of North Georgia and join the Nighthawk family, which means that you are a member of our family too.

Family members and guests of incoming students play an important role in their student's transition to UNG. We recognize the support you need as well, so we have designed a program to meet your specific needs and concerns.

You have access to a self-paced online Parent and Family Orientation that gives you the opportunity to learn about resources available on campus and discover ways to help your student succeed in and out of the classroom.

In addition, parents and guests of Freshmen and Transfer students will be invited to join certain parts of the live Zoom orientation. You will not receive a separate Zoom link, so please plan to be with your student when they log in for their virtual session.

We also invite you and your student to schedule a personalized visit for after the virtual orientation. During this visit, our orientation team will show you around campus, take you to any needed amounts, and help answer any remaining questions. In early April, students will receive more information through UNG email about how to schedule a personalized visit for after they complete virtual orientation requirement.
