Two UNG faculty members exhibit artwork in Athens gallery

A few years ago, University of North Georgia (UNG) visual arts faculty members Vivian Liddell and Alex Kraft had pieces in an art exhibit on UNG's Oconee Campus. The two women immediately noticed something special about each other's pieces.
"Our work was next to one another and it looked like the work was related," said Kraft, assistant professor of Visual Arts at UNG.
Ever since this discovery, Kraft and Liddell have been trying show their work side by side again. This month, the women succeed.
Their artwork is part of the mixed media showcase exhibit called "Media Circus" at the Trio Contemporary Art Gallery. The exhibit will run from April 6 to May 26 at 766 W. Broad St. in Athens, Georgia.
Liddell, lecturer of painting and drawing at UNG, named her piece "Painting with Claws." Kraft's pieces are titled "Tulipierium," "Harvest" and "Experimental Floral Enclosure." And the artwork is side by side at the Trio, just like the women wanted.
"We like the way our work communicates with each other," Liddell said.
