University of North Georgia (UNG) faculty member Dr. Bill Black attended the sixth annual International Conference on Luca Pacioli in Accounting in Naples, Italy.
More than 100 accountants, economists and historians discussed accounting and economic history from the Middle Ages to today, with sessions in Italian, English and Spanish.
Black, assistant professor of accounting and law at UNG, was invited to participate on a panel of editors of history publications from six countries in four languages, including French. He is senior editor of the Accounting Historians Journal, one of the oldest and most widely recognized publications in the field at 45 years old. The journal publishes about 15 articles per year from historians all over the world.
"This gave me an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues from all over the world and to discuss publishing opportunities in accounting history with aspiring scholars," Black said.
