The University of North Georgia's (UNG) Mike Cottrell College of Business ranks No. 14 on "The 50 Best Affordable Business Schools" list released by Affordable Schools. UNG was the lone Georgia school to make the list, which the website staff compiled after examining 250 universities.

"We are pleased to receive this recognition for the Mike Cottrell College of Business. It speaks to the fact that we provide a quality education at a very affordable price," Dr. Mary Gowan, dean of the college, said. "Students can graduate from our business program and start their careers without the debt many of their co-workers will be managing."

The business college offers the Bachelor of Business Administration degree with five majors: accounting, finance, information systems, management, and marketing. It also has a Bachelor of Applied Science in technology management and two Bachelor of Science degrees: computer science and cybersecurity.

At the graduate level, the college offers the Cottrell MBA, a Master of Accountancy and three certificate programs.

The college, which currently enrolls more than 4,900 students, provides professional development programming for its students, including internship opportunities.

The college boasts accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and in 2020 earned ABET accreditation for its computer science degree program. ABET is the premier accrediting agency for computing degree programs.
