University of North Georgia (UNG) women's golf head coach Sierra Campbell has been selected to serve as the Division II director on the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Board of Directors for the 2026-27 term.

"Coach Campbell has led North Georgia's women's golf to sustained success on the national stage," UNG Athletic Director Mary Rob Plunkett said. "Her appointment to the WGCA Board of Directors further highlights her standing among the nation's respected leaders in collegiate women's golf."

The WGCA announced its new Board of Directors on June 1, with Campbell joining the organization's leadership group effective immediately.

Campbell, who has guided the Nighthawks program for seven seasons, will represent NCAA Division II women's golf at the national level while helping shape the future of the sport through the WGCA's governance and advocacy efforts.

"I am humbled to have a seat at the table among such incredible and reputable coaches," Campbell said. "As I have lived for Division II women's golf for the past 13-plus years, I am honored to have the opportunity to both represent and advocate for it at the national level. I am looking forward to helping in the continued trajectory of our sport at this elite level."

Under Campbell's direction, UNG has secured a spot in an NCAA Division II regional for the first two times in program history in 2025 and 2026. She also mentored Mackenzie Connell, who earned UNG's first Peach Belt Conference (PBC) individual championship in 2026. Her team returned to the NCAA tournament in 2026 a year after losing three seniors and reloading with four freshmen.

The coach has led UNG to outright second place or tied for second in the PBC in four of the six seasons the conference has held its tournament during her tenure.

Campbell joins a distinguished group of new board members, including Kevin Williams, Darby Sligh, Caroline Westrup, Kailin Downs, Heather Bowie, and Lydia Lasprilla.

The WGCA serves as the collective voice of women's collegiate golf coaches and works to advance the growth and success of the sport at all levels. As Division II director, Campbell will provide leadership and representation for coaches and student-athletes throughout the division.
