Dr. Purvis knows the poultry industry inside and out. After growing up on a poultry farm, she decided to study poultry science.
She has secured more than $40,000 in grants from the U.S. Poultry Foundation to aid in the recruitment and education of poultry science students. She also has had multiple papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
Purvis earned her associate degree at UNG followed by a bachelor's degree in poultry science, a master's degree in infectious disease, and a Ph.D. in science education, all three from the University of Georgia.
